Sea Spaghetti | Delicious edible seaweed | Vitamins & minerals
Sea Spaghetti (Himanthalia elongate) is a particularly striking seaweed which grows in long ribbon-like blades, of up to several meters in length. It's due to this remarkable appearance that the sea vegetable earned its name.
With a mild taste that is slightly nutty and slightly salty, with a chewy texture it is an important player in our edible seaweed mixes.
As with the other seaweeds used in Seaspoon products (Dulse, Sea Greens and Sea Lettuce) Sea Spaghetti is endowed with a broad range of minerals, is high in fibre and in particular boosts our mixes with calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamin C. Both potassium and magnesium are vital for maintaining a ship-shape and healthy nervous system, and whilst popeye was known for his spinach intake, if he'd known that Sea Spaghetti was also a good source of magnesium...maybe he'd have changed his food of choice!
