It's with great delight that we announce our latest gong for the mantlepiece is the Taste of the West's Best Newcomer Award!
The glittering awards ceremony, held rather auspiciously on Friday 13th September, saw a host of deliciously tasty brands, including Moo Milk, Salcombe Brewery, Good Game, Roly's Fudge and the Cornish Cheese Company (to name but a few), come together for a celebration of great food and drink from the region.
In the challenge to claim the Best Newcomer spot, we were up against a superb line up of companies, The Bristol Spirits Collective, Catch of the Day and Cornish Moo. The award was sponsored by Taste of the West Renewables.
We couldn't be prouder of the statement in the Awards booklet about Seaspoon:
"With their innovative, healthy, modern and fun product, this fledgling company entered the Taste of the West Awards unsure of their 'place' among the entrants. In this health-conscious society, their utterly delicious product offers a healthy and very tasty salt alternative to the more conventional seasonings. Their branding is eye-catching and our judges believe this is a product and company destined for great things."
This award perfectly complements our two Taste of the West Gold Awards for Seaweed Seasoning and Seaweed Boost, plus the Commended Award for Seaweed Umami Blend.
Taste of the West, who are the largest independent regional food group in the UK, promoting and supporting fantastic local food and drink from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
